Cambodia Sailor gets training Support
Malaysia bound Windsurfers Sun Heng and Soth Mesa, both of whom are 15 years old,  are in the midst of their training in Guangdong, China. Their trip and training is made possible by the Support of Mr Gordon Tang, Vice President of the NOCC and President of the Cambodia Sailing Federation.  The duo will test their skills in an event in Singapore before making their SEA Games appearance. Cambodia's Laser boat entry Duch Bunthoeun will also have a competitive fling in Singapore.

MOEYS to Organize Khmer Boxing Championship

The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports  has agreed in principle with the Kun Khmer Boxing Federation to conduct a Khmer Boxing Championship.

In a letter from the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport No. 4658 dated July 27 and signed by the Minister of Education, Youth and Sport, Hang Chuon Naron has authorized the Kun Khmer Boxing Federation to hold a two-day Khun Khmer Boxing Championship Seminar from 2nd to 3rd August in the auditorium of the Sport and Physical Education Department to review and publish Khmer classical works.

Triathlon eyes record breaking at Sea Game in Malaysia
Cambodia will send two athletes to compete in triathlon at 29th Sea Games in Malaysia. Mr. Ngin Sopanha, secretary general of Cambodia Triathlon Federation (CTF), expected that previous record in 28th Sea Games in Singapore will be broken this year as players has been training hard in recent in Kep Province.
In recent interview with Thmey Thmey, Mr. Sopanha said he could not guarantee Cambodia will win medals because Triathlon is a tough sport and the abilities of two athletes are far behind the gold medalist in 28th edition. He added that the two will try their best for country.

Cambodia will send a total of 16 player to compete for Pentanque in 29th Sea Games in Malaysia this August, hoping for winning more medals. Team head coach see Thailand as main obstacle for Cambodia to win gold medal.

Kenny falls in final of Kuala Lumpur Open

Cambodia’s Davis Cup spearhead Bun Kenny battled his way to the final of the Kuala Lumpur Tennis Open, where his weary legs buckled against a seemingly fresh David Sustanto of Indonesia, the top seed winning 6-3, 6-3 at the National Tennis Complex in the Malaysian Capital yesterday morning.
Having endured a long three-set battle in the semifinals against third seeded Ahmed Deedat Adul of Malaysia,the final showdown was Kenny’s 10th match in five days. Facing a player who had a relatively smooth passage, Kenny had a tough time coping with the physical demands.
The desire was there, but his legs apparently were not as after the first three games Kenny appeared winded.
Kenny had managed to reach a fairly good level of fitness in the past few weeks after spending months overcoming a shoulder strain that had been bothering him for some time.

PM Hun Sen to Bid Team Cambodia Farewell to 29th SEA Games

The 29th SEA Games bound athletes and officials will meet with the Prime Minister Techo Hun Sen on Thursday 3rd August at the peace building for a valedictory farewell ceremony.
It has become customary for the Sports Contingent from the kingdom to pay the PM a visit at the council of Ministers building before leaving for major international competition.

The Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia H.E Vath Chamroeun announced this during the Press conference to Welcome Cambodia Sailing Federation to the membership of World Sailing.
A Total of 276 Delegates will be attending the Games in which 179 are Athletes. H.E Vath Chamoreun stated while announcing the scheduled departure dates of the Athletes and officials. The teams will start to depart in batches with the National U23 football Team  among the first to depart on 10th August. Most other teams already in Training Camps abroad will fly direct to Malaysia with the Main contingent departing on August 16th.
